Theoretical Risks and Side Effects
Skeletal Overgrowth — In children with open growth plates, hypertrophic chondrocytes normally swell to push bone elongation, if their size increases far beyond normal, the mechanical expansion and biochemical output scale up, producing disproportionately larger and longer bones even without extra cell division.
The side effects described are theoretical, based on underlying biological mechanisms, and have not been empirically measured in controlled studies.
